We have been able to go on a few wonderful field trips to experience the fantastic things Michigan has to offer us. The Science field trip to a local Nature Center is on a separate page. The reward trip for reading an extra 15 minutes every day in the month of March was to attend our local baseball team's ball game, the West Michigan White Caps. The weather was perfect for that event. For an extension of our Music and Art program, we attended a performance at the Muskegon's Frauenthal Theater to see the West Michigan Symphony Orchestra. Our students were able to play their recorders along with the orchestra to the song "A Simple Melody". The theater is exceptionally beautiful and the experience was enlightening. We then visited the Muskegon Museum of Art to enjoy the temporary book illustrator exhibit on display as well as some of their permanent art collection. The docents were very impressed with the behavior of our fourth graders while in that lovely museum. Here are a few photographs from those field trips.
